The Conversion can be installed on all "true" single stack, 9x18 chambered Maks
of Russian, Bulgarian, German and  Chinese manufacture; it will not work with other 9x18 pistols such as P64 or PA63.
Currently we also have a very limited number of Kits for the .380 chambered Maks!
The slide, made of light aluminum alloy, has the same shape, size, and safety lock as the original Makarov slide, and has a built in firing pin and extractor. Unlike the original, however, it does not lock in open (rear) position after shooting the last round. Each Conversion Kit's individual serial number is engraved on both the slide and the barrel insert.

The barrel insert, designed to fit inside the pistols original barrel, has a stop flange at its rear end, into which a slot has been cut to accomodate the extractor when the slide is in forward position. The front end of the insert is threaded to accept the lock-nut.

The nut is of a split design and has a centering ring at its threaded (rear) end. Maintaining the original, factory condition of the nut is very important for the Conversion Kit's performance and accuracy.

The recoil spring has one end wider than the other. It is important to remember that the wider spring end is the front end (in direction of firing).

The 8 rd. magazine's external dimensions and geometry match those of the original single stack magazine of the Makarov pistol. The .22LR magazine's left lip (in direction of firing) has an elongated rear point which is functional in ejecting the empty shell.

Cleaning tool and Directions for use are  also a part of the kit.
